Preparatory conference for the First International Interdisciplinary Congress on Parental Alienation and Family Violence

The first International Congress on Parental Alienation and Family Violence is of particular importance and its dissemination and clarification of its objectives is essential. For this reason, the Preparatory Seminar for the Congress was convened.

Parental Alienation is a serious family relational issue, affecting twenty-five million children worldwide, with profound effects on both their lives and those of their parents.

In this Seminar, experts presented and discussed Parental Alienation, which is of considerable psychological, legal, and social importance.

She is a certified EMDR therapist, forensic expert and creator of international congresses on mobbing and bullying. She has advised the parliaments of Chile and Uruguay on these issues, and has published three books and several scientific articles. She is currently studying for a diploma in Parental Alienation at the Universidad Simón Bolívar and is a delegate for Uruguay in GARI-PA.

Sau-lyn Lee Maturana

Psychologist and PhD in Psychology from the University of Tasmania, with a Masters in Social Psychology from the University of Tarapacá. She has worked for 15 years as an academic at the university, focusing on supporting parents of pre-school and elementary school students. Her line of research, since 2016, covers issues of divorce, parental alienation and family conflict, participating in research projects on reconfiguration of parentality and parental alienation. She is a member of international research groups on parental alienation in the USA and Mexico.

Rosalía Fernández Alaya

Magistrate of the Provincial Court of Las Palmas and judge since 1987, she was the first woman to be elected to a High Court of Justice in Spain. Her career focuses on Human Rights, Family Law and Mediation, with specialised training in these areas and stays in European courts. She is an expert observer at the Hague Conference and participates in several legal journals and educational programmes.
