Who we are

The Centre for the Study of Parental Alienation (CEAP) is an institution dedicated to interdisciplinary research, dissemination and promotion of policies related to the phenomenon of parental alienation. It addresses this issue from legal, psychological and psychiatric approaches, and is composed of professionals and experts in these disciplines.

It also has the support and participation of organisations of parents who have been affected by situations of parental alienation.

The CEAP is chaired by Dr. Mauricio Luis Mizrahi, PhD in Law and Social Sciences (UBA), former judge of the National Chamber of Civil Appeals, full professor at the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences of the UBA, and author of numerous books and publications.

Among the professionals who form part of the CEAP are leading specialists such as Dr. William Bernet (USA), Dr. Alejandro Mendoza Amaro (Mexico) and, from Argentina, Drs. Carlos Díaz Usandivaras, Pedro Herscovici, Sergio Dubove, Andrés Beccar Varela, Mercedes Ladereche and Kalanit Nayla Jalif.

Psychiatrist, specialising in Child Psychiatry and Forensic Psychiatry. Evaluates children, adults and families involved in both civil and criminal legal situations. Professor emeritus, researcher and author of numerous books and articles.

Alejandro Mendoza Amaro

Mexico

Mexican researcher, international lecturer and expert on child abuse and scientific integrity. PhD in Psychology and President of Global Action for Research Integrity in Parental Alienation (GARI-PA). Author of books and articles in indexed journals, as well as peer reviewer for various journals and executive editor of the Journal of Family Procedural Law. Research Coordinator of the Dr. José Torres Orozco Psychiatric Hospital.

Carlos Diaz Usandivaras

Argentina

Psychiatrist, Systemic Family Therapist, and Master in Marriage and Family at the University of Navarra, Spain. He was the Founder and is currently Director of the Instituto de La Familia. He has taught at the Catholic University of La Plata, the University of Belgrano, the University of Buenos Aires and the Catholic University of Montevideo.

Peter Herscovici

Psychiatrist-Family Therapist specialising in the Philadelphia Child Guidance Clinic. Approved Supervisor and Clinical Member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. Supervisor Honoris category of the Systemic Association of Buenos Aires. Former Director of the Mental Health Centre N° 2, Buenos Aires, Argentina. Co-director of the Instituto Terapias Sistémicas (TESIS). Member of the Editorial Committee of numerous national and foreign publications in the field. Author of several articles and chapters in books on Psychotherapy, Family Law and Family Medicine.

Sergio Dubove

Lawyer specialising in Family Law. He obtained the Honours Diploma from the University of Buenos Aires. He has devoted himself to university teaching, public service and professional practice. He gives lectures and courses. He is the author of numerous works. He is vice-president of the Centro de Estudios en Alienación Parental.

Andrés Beccar Varela

Lawyer graduated from the Universidad Católica Argentina (1995, and Postgraduate Specialization in Family Law). Taught Family Law and Succession Law at the Law School of the University of Buenos Aires. He currently teaches Family Law and Inheritance Law at the University of San Isidro (USI Dr. Plácido Marin).
